Welcome to another week of Nook News. Unfortunately, our regular news writer is away and as such, we only have visual novel news. Our news coverage of the other areas is expected to be a bit spotty as our writers take time off over the winter holiday season.
Visual Novel News:
Shiravune have announced the upcoming release of crossdressing romcom Otome * Domain on the 22nd December, 2022. It will release on Steam and Johren.
It follows a protagonist who is left alone after the passing of his grandmother. One of the heroines around his age happens to runs a school for promising gentlewomen, and with nowhere else to go, he ends up in an otherwise all-female dormitory. Unfortunately for him, the girls there all seem to be quite eccentric.
While not confirmed, it looks like an adult patch will be required to access one of the three routes if playing on Steam.
Toffer Team has announced that LIP! Lewd Idol Project Vol. 2 is coming to Steam, Denpasoft, and other platforms on December 15. As the name implies, this is an adult title, following ‘lewd idols’.
If you’d like to get an idea about this series, NookGaming has reviewed both LIP! Lewd Idol Project Vol.1 and LIP! Lewd Idol Project Vol. 1 – Hot Springs And Beach Episodes.
Following it’s November 2022 multi-console release though Ratalaika Games, Cross Game Studio have now released their rom-com visual novel 7 Days of Rose on Steam.
It follows Michael, a self-proclaimed boring 17-year old. He takes a trip to a tropical island, spending 7 days with a quirky girl.
Envelope has announced the release of Queen Beast on Steam and Itch.io. It’s a free title, where you follow a humble miller named Otto as he tries to rescue his sister in a fantasy setting.
While previously covered in our news posts, as a reminder, Aokana – Four Rhythms Across the Blue – EXTRA 2 by NekoNyan/Sprite is set to release on 16th December, 2022. This is the after-story for the Misaki route of the Aokana visual novel.
If you haven’t checked out the main title yet, we reviewed Aokana – Four Rhythms Across the Blue and Aokana – Four Rhythms Across the Blue – EXTRA 1.
While we don’t typically cover Japanese-only visual novel news, it is newsworthy that Yuzusoft have announced Tenshi Souzou Re-Boot as releasing in Japanese on 28th April 2023. Their western partner NekoNyan have kindly provided the following translation of the synopsis:
It began as a day just like any other.
A dull morning, an uneventful trip to school, an afternoon of tedious lectures…
And then I met her.
“I’m an angel, sent here from Heaven on a very important mission.”
She appeared suddenly, and without warning―a beautiful girl who called herself an angel.
Spreading her large, snow-white wings, she made a declaration that would forever change my life.
“I come in search of the Demon Lord’s reincarnation.”
“That being you, Tanikaze Riku.”
That’s right, apparently I was a Demon Lord in my previous life. From some other world to boot.
Unfortunately for me, the anarchy wouldn’t stop there.
Memories from a previous life, visitors from another world… It was just one crazy, chaotic event after the other.
“Wait, what? But that doesn’t― Huh?!”
Thus began the story of Tanikaze Riku, a tale marked by the loss of his normal life, along with so many other precious things.
Aside from even more anarchy, what else does the future have in store for him
While NekoNyan have not commented about a potential English language version at this time, they do localize many Yuzusoft titles, so it doesn’t seem out of the question.
